FACE - Federation of Associations of young Citizens of Europe

The 13th FACE Youth Meeting was a huge success. Teachers and guests alike were greatly impressed by the efficiency and relentlessness with which our young participants worked. For many of them it was their first FACE meeting and despite the awe and shyness which showed in their faces on the first evening, they have achieved amazing results.

In just three days they have managed to join forces with young people from 10 different countries to find solutions for a sustainable and more secure European energy system of the future. They have discovered both the European dimension of the problem and individual responsibility. They have shared their knowledge in multinational study groups, through hands-on experience, during excursions and have at the same time improved their language and presentation skills. They have drafted a questionnaire with the help of which they will raise awareness for the topic in their countries and are now prepared to discuss this controversial issue with experts and politicians. And of course they have made friends from all over Europe and learned more about their European neighbours and their common European heritage.

A very warm thank you to  the young members of FACE for the great amount of energy they put into their work and very big thank you to the delegation leaders, teachers who benevolently dedicate a lot of their time to FACE and without whom these meetings could not take place. Thank you, too, to all those who supported us - morally and financially - , especially the European Commission Programme "Youth in Action" and our patron Günter Gloser, member of the German Bundestag. And last but by no means least a huge thank you to Inez Hofmann, who was crazy enough to host yet another FACE Youth Meeting in Germany!
