"Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité"...
... is the french (devise) and it means "Freedom, Equality, Brotherhood". It is based on the first article of the Universal Declration of Human Rights: "Tous les êtres humains naissent libres et égaux en dignité et en droits. Ils sont doués de raison et de conscience et doivent agir les uns envers les autres dans un esprit de fraternité." "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood." This why, us, french young people, thought that this article was the best one to work on. The Universal Delaration of Human Rights was adopted in 1948 in Paris by the United Nations General Assembly and it etablishes the foundamentel human rights. This declration is inpired by The Declration of the Right of man and of the Citizen which has been written by the french National Assembly in 1789 the year of the French Revolution. This declaration was a synthesis not only of the American Bill of Righs and Declration of Independence but also of the Enlightenment ideals. Its first article is the most impotant: it reads that "Men are born free and remain free and equal in rights. Social distinctions can be based only on public utility." because these two sentences called for the destruction of privileges and evantually led to the questioning of religious or raciel segregation as well as gender-based differences. Today this declration is founding stone of civic relationships and this is why it can be read in the preamble to today's French Constitution, adopted in 1958, which organises theb way of the institution of Frances fifth Republic works. However, in some countries, most of the rights mentionned in this declaration are violated even in countries which claim they are democracies. These rights are also violated in France the country that founded them. Therefore, now we wonder how this country can violate rights that it has founded.like in Calais, in the north of France, people, coming from very poor countries, who want to go to United Kingdom, were installed in a forest which is called the "jungle". They slept in tents, they lived with things that they had stolen. The government didn't take care of these persons. But, near three weeks ago, the governmentdecid to remove the jungle and make the jungle inhabitants return to their country of origin.
